Biography

Jessica Caux is an Honours graduate of Northern College of Applied Arts and Technology with nearly a decade of experience in social services, beginning her career in 2016. Her professional background spans youth addictions, mental health, developmental disabilities, homelessness, women’s services, and palliative care.

A significant portion of Jess’s work has focused on grief and bereavement, advanced care planning, and healthcare consent. Through this lens, she has developed a deep understanding of how unresolved grief, loss, and systemic barriers often sit at the core of addiction and mental health challenges. She is passionate about addressing grief as a central and frequently overlooked component of recovery.

At Freeport Recovery, Jess brings a trauma-informed, community-centered, and holistic approach to care. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused practices to support individuals in building sustainable coping strategies. She often incorporates a family-informed perspective, recognizing that recovery and healing extend beyond the individual.

As someone in long-term recovery, Jess offers a grounded and compassionate presence shaped by lived experience. She believes that healing happens when dignity, accountability, physical wellness, and community connection are integrated into treatment.
