Britney Condotta

Biography

Britney Condotta is a seventh-generation Ontario farmer, born and raised in Jordan, Ontario, with a deep-rooted passion for sustainable food practices and food farming justice. She draws on a lifetime of agricultural knowledge alongside formal culinary training to minimize food waste through whole-item preservation, seed saving, growing, foraging, and propagation — principles that form the foundation of her cooking philosophy.

Britney holds a Grande Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu as well as a university background with a major in classical art. This combination of disciplines gives her a distinctive eye for the beauty, colour, and aesthetic of food, which she pairs with essential culinary techniques to showcase the full diversity of the profession.

At Freeport Recovery, Britney teaches and encourages self-sustainable growing practices, butchery, preservation, and meal planning, offering residents practical skills they can explore at any level. She also brings a range of creative practices to support wellness and mental health, including traditional basket weaving with willow that she farms, fibre arts such as punch needle, and painting and drawing. Britney has taught each of these disciplines and is committed to connecting them to the homesteading programming at Freeport.
